Delete your Civilian account
Civilian is published by Civilian LLC. This page explains how to permanently delete your account and exactly what happens to your data.
Delete from the app
Android: open Civilian → Account → Delete account → confirm.
iOS: open Civilian → Account → Delete account → confirm.
Web: sign in at civilianos.com → Account → Settings → Delete account → confirm.
Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Can't sign in?
If you no longer have access to the app or your account, email privacy@civilianos.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We respond within two business days.
Delete some of your data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. Most profile data can be cleared by you at any time in Account → Profile — personal info, location and district, household, and civic context are all editable, and clearing a field removes it.
For anything you can't clear yourself, email privacy@civilianos.com from your registered address describing what you want deleted. We respond within two business days and will confirm once it's done. Your account stays active.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account and sign-in credentials
- Your profile — personal info, location and district, household, and civic context
- Your briefings, including generated audio
- Your subscription records
- Your push notification tokens
- Error reports and analytics events tied to your user ID
What is kept, and for how long
Diagnostic data and analytics events are purged from our systems on a rolling 90-day schedule regardless of whether you delete your account.
Payment and transaction records held by our payment processors — Google Play, the App Store, Stripe, and RevenueCat — are retained by those companies under their own financial and legal obligations. Deleting your Civilian account does not remove records held by them. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of processors and what each one receives.
Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your account does not cancel an active Civilian Pro subscription. Cancel it wherever you bought it, or you may continue to be billed:
Google Play: open the Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Civilian → Cancel subscription.
App Store: open iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Civilian → Cancel Subscription.
Web: Civilian → Account → Subscription → Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe billing portal.
